After School Programming with The UM Frost School of Music and The Harmony Project

In January of 2013, The Overtown Music Project, The University of Miami Frost School of Music, and the Harmony Project launched after school music programming in Miami’s Overtown. In keeping with the history of Overtown students will be immersed in a jazz based curriculum. Classes in Overtown will be taught by two Frost MusicReach Mentors and will enroll 80 first and second grade students from the Overtown community. Harmony Project of Miami teachers are undergraduate and graduate university students recruited from the Frost School of Music. These students gain invaluable experiences as mentors and teachers, inspiring youth to achieve their goals.
